Challenges

San Diego MTS’ contracted operations needed a tool that could consolidate operations, finance, and ridership data to make effective business decisions. They did not have the ability to review system statistics on a micro level and they received data from many different sources. MTS management wanted the ability to monitor and maintain all their private transportation provider data under one system, tailored to their unique processes. As a result, MTS purchased TransTrack. TransTrack offers a flexible data management system with custom views and imports for each client. This solution enables MTS to review ridership, financial, and operations data at both a macro and micro-level

There are thousands of MTS employees who keep the fleet of nearly 1,000 vehicles maintained and operating every day. The all-electric Trolleys and near-zero emission buses reduce burdens associated with negative environmental impacts. MTS serves 570 square miles of the urbanized areas of San Diego County as well as the rural parts of East County, 3240 total square miles, serving approximately 3 million people in San Diego County.
